Ento-Protein™
Industry Integration and By-Product
Recycling

Commercial production of Ento-protein™
has a number of significant benefits, including the
utilization of by-products from other industries.
Manufacturers and processors of fruits, vegetables,
grains, and their related products, such as ethanol
and
bio-diesels can be incorporated in mass quantity
into the diets of certain selected insect species.
As well, the by-product of certain animal processing,
such as chicken and fish, can also be used for other
groups of insect species. The vast diversity of insect
species makes the selection process an interesting
one. Many insects that feed on waste products, by
nature reproduce very rapidly and in large numbers.
ABI has already selected a number of ideal species
for different waste recycling applications, which
will provide the Company with the ability to partner
with many different industries.
The integration of quality protein product from these
processing liabilities has tremendous economic implications
for both parties. The economic viability of mass production
of quality insect meal depends upon a low-cost feed
source. The ability to utilize organic waste material
from processing fulfills a duel benefit by eliminating/reducing
disposal costs as well as feed costs.
Aside from the economic implications, by-product
recycling with Ento-protein™ is beneficial to the environment. The recycling of
organic wastes for valuable high protein meal reduces
land fill deposition, methane gas release into the
atmosphere, and the potential for bacterial contamination.
